Ranchi to host two Matches in IPL 2013

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allotted two matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA). The two matches will be played at the JSCA International Stadium here in May. JSCA has received confirmation from the BCCI and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after a team of KKR had recently visited the newly constructed stadium to check the facilities. Based on the report submitted by KKR the BCCI allotted the two matches.
“As many as 11 venues have been confirmed to host the IPL matches. The nine home venues apart, matches will be played at two grounds which will make their ODI debuts in January 2013. The last two ‘home’ games of the Kings XI Punjab will be played at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala, which has hosted seven IPL matches since 2010. The JSCA International Stadium at Ranchi will host the last two ‘home’ games of KKR,” said a communiqué issued by BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale. The debut ODI at JSCA International Stadium will be played between India and England on January 19.
